I have been writing about football for over a decade, covering the game across a wide range of formats and publications — from features and analysis through to match reports and news pieces.

My football writing has appeared in a number of publications including The Guardian, It’s Round and It’s White and WhatCulture, as well as local North East publications. I have a particular specialism in North East football — having followed and covered the regional game closely throughout my career — alongside strong knowledge of the Premier League, European football and the non-league pyramid.

My writing focuses primarily on features and analysis, exploring the stories, trends and tactical questions that drive football conversation. I am equally comfortable producing timely news pieces and match reports to tight deadlines, as well as longer form pieces that require deeper research and a distinct point of view.

Based in Darlington, I am currently available for freelance commissions across match reports, features, analysis and news writing at all levels of the game.
